Medical Genetics

Your physician has referred you to the medical genetics department because he suspects that you might have a genetic condition or wishes to exclude a heredity hypothesis associated with your health condition (e.g.: cardiopathy, developmental delay, suspected muscular dystrophy, deafness, metabolic disease, infertility, etc.). We will ask you questions about your health and family history at time of your consultation in genetics.

That information will help us to provide the most accurate genetic assessment possible. If you so wish, you can start by asking questions your relatives questions right now: your children, siblings, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandparents. Doing so will help you to prepare for your appointment.

We recommend using our family information-gathering tool below to get an idea of the questions that you will be asked.
