Hospitalization and travel expenses for users

Hospitalization Fees

Hospitalization fees and care are generally covered by the Régie de l'assurance-maladie du Québec (RAMQ), and this is for the province's residents. However, please note that certain types of treatment and medical services are not covered by the RAMQ. When this is the case, your physician will notify you.

Rates for rooms are established under section 10 of the Regulation respecting the application of the Hospital Insurance Act as set by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux.

Consult the MSSS circular (French) to know the applicable rates.

User travel expenses

All travel to an establishment in the health and social services network (RSSS) is at the expense of the person being transported, unless he or she is eligible for a government financial support program. The Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec does not cover the cost of transportation to a network facility for Quebec residents.
