Medical Imaging (Radiology and Nuclear Medicine)

Your physician has asked you to undergo a radilogy exam or a nuclear medicine exam.. The purpose of these tests is to get a picture of the anatomy of your organs (size, volume, location, shape of potential injury, etc.) or of their functioning (physiology, metabolism, etc.).

Following the clinical examination, the referring physician determines which test is appropriate. Medical imaging and nuclear medicine are often combined with other diagnostic tests (blood and urine analyses, etc.).

A radiologist or a nuclear medicine physician (for nuclear medicine exams) interprets the requested images and transmits the results to the referring physician, thereby enabling him to confirm a diagnosis or to monitor the progression of a disease in order to provide the most appropriate treatment for the pathology.
